On the day of our departure for America in June 1941 we gathered on the steps of our OSE home in Haute in Vienne, France. Ruth, on front step [wearing glasses], is flanked by her dear friend, Frieda Rosenblum Grab [left], and our youngest sister, Lea, age 4 1/2, who dashed to the front before the photo was snapped although she did not come with us. I'm behind Lea, our mother, Mia, is in back of me, and our father, Sal, wearing a French beret, is in second row, far left. The photo also shows two organizers of the 1989 reunion, Art Kern, behind Ruth, and Norbert Rosenblum, behind his sister, Frieda Grab.
